The church steeple is an elegant example of the artistry of renowned architect David Hoadley. The steeple was recently restored. The church was built in 1819 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The steeple contains a bell that was hauled by sled over snow and ice from Albany in 1820. The bell was rung so vigorously at the conclusion of the Civil War that it cracked.
